Tina Babcock

Anne Douglas Center
Reverend
Tina Babcock is the Director of the Anne Douglas Center. The
Center helps women and children of Skid Row with emergency
services and rehabilitation programs. She has returned to
the Los Angeles Mission after a three year hiatus during which
she worked with the elderly and disabled as a social worker
for San Bernardino County.
Reverend
Babcock came to the Los Angeles Mission in 1997 as a senior
chaplain for the women‚s ministries in 1998. She became
Director of the Anne Douglas Center and member of the senior
executive team of the mission. She has a B.A. degree in Psychology
and Certification as an Instructor in Domestic Violence Interventions,
Conflict Resolution for Couples and Parenting Training. She
introduced Parenting and Domestic Violence Classes and Couples
Counseling to the mission. In her capacity as a Los Angeles
Mission executive, she has acted as a consultant for other
missions on program development and as an expert in domestic
violence interventions, conducting seminars throughout the
United States.
Prior
to coming to the Los Angeles Mission, Reverend Babcock was
Director of Battered Women‚s Services Shelter and Hotline
for the San Diego YWCA. During her four years at BWS she developed
training material to assist CPS works and other professionals
in domestic violence intervention.
Reverend
Babcock continues to make herself available to churches and
parachurch organizations for trainings on domestic violence
intervention and inner healing.
Reverend Babcock has been preaching and teaching the Bible
from the age of sixteen and has served as a Bible Teacher
in the Foursquare Gospel Church, the Wesleyan Methodist Church
and a pastor in the Nazarene Church with a total of thirty-one
years of ministry experience. She labored over a span of ten
years in Christ Radio as a writer, producer and program host
for KM JC and KECR Christian Radio stations in San Diego.
Reverend
Babcock and her husband Paul Babcock attend and serve in Joy
Community Church of God in Chino Hills, California and reside
in Ontario, California.
