Chief Financial Officer
Steve Kennedy has recently joined the Los Angeles Mission as the Chief Financial Officer. He served the Mission in the temporary role of Interim Director of Finance before accepting the position of CFO. He comes to us with a wealth of experience in finance and accounting in the higher education, manufacturing and public accounting fields.
In addition to his work at the Los Angeles Mission, Steve, who was recently ordained as a deacon in the Anglican Church, ministers at St. David's Anglican Church in North Hollywood.
Steve earned a Bachelors degree at the University of Wisconsin, an MBA at Columbia University, and a Masters of Divinity at Fuller Theological Seminary. He has also been certified as a CPA.
Steve began his career in the accounting field as a Senior Staff Auditor with a well-known public accounting firm, Arthur Young and Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He later joined the Arkay Corporation, a manufacturing company, as Controller. Then after moving to New York, he entered the higher education field and served as Controller at Marymount Manhattan College and later as Controller and then Associate Vice President & Treasurer of New School University.
When Steve felt called of God to leave his position at NSU to attend seminary in preparation for full time ministry, the Board of the New School University responded by recognizing his many years of dedicated service through the establishment of a scholarship in his name to one student annually at NSU's Eugene Lang College.
As CFO, Steve Kennedy serves as a member of the Mission's Leasdership Team, as well as a participant in the Board meetings of the Los Angeles Mission Community Clinic. He enjoys reading, running, playing golf, tennis, and soccer, and going to movies.
