Sign Up’s Begin for the Christmas Street Event on 12/24
This
is our annual street event, celebrating Christmas by serving
our guests traditional holiday meals. We will also be providing
Christmas gifts to all children under the age of 14 who are
present. We need almost 400 volunteers to help make this event
happen. Volunteers must be at least 12 years old and the group
limit is 10 including the leaders.
Thursday,
November 4th
Prayer Assembly
The
first Thursday of each month the Los Angeles Mission joins
several hundreds friends and neighbors from the various service
providers in a prayer march. Each mission is visited. Students
and staff join in the Lord's Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.
Congregational prayer and worship follow. Some have described
this as a living sacrament that promotes the unity of the broken
Body of Christ in Hope Central. You're invited to attend the
Prayer March beginning at 7:00am, but call 213-629-1227 ext.
387 to find out the starting location.

Blessing Breakfast
7am
This
is the start of the celebration for the graduation. In a short
ceremony, the Chaplin pronounces a blessing over the candidates
for graduation followed by a breakfast in their honor.

November 12th
Graduation Banquet
5:30pm
Graduation
is a time of celebration! Each graduate invites their family
and friends to join them in the Case Dining Hall for a great
feast in honor of their accomplishments. The atmosphere is
that of excitement for the achievement of the graduates who
sit at the table of honor.

Graduation Commencement
7:00pm
The
Los Angeles Mission's Urban Training Institute has a commencement
celebration quarterly. Graduation is not the end of the journey
for UTI students. When graduates cross the stage they step
off the bridge of UTI, leave the pain of their past, and embrace
the promise of their future. Family, friends and donors join
in the celebration. Call and RSVP to attend the UTI commencement.

Wednesday,
November 24th
Thanksgiving Street Meal
11am-3pm
Nearly
3,500 homeless men, women and children will receive
turkey with all the trimmings – served with a helping
of love and respect. Volunteers will serve up plates of turkey,
mashed potatoes, vegetables, rolls and pecan pies. We need
almost 400 volunteers to help make this event happen. Volunteers

the leaders.
