Ron Rector, Vice President of Facilities and Operations at the Los Angeles Mission shares his journey on the path to freedom from his drug addiction. 16 years later, he’s still standing strong.

The time I spent in my addiction to drugs was a very dark period in my life. It all started with marijuana as a teenager and graduated to crack cocaine. By the time I was 30 years old my life was totally out of control. I robbed at night to buy drugs during the day. The future held only two options for me, jail or death. I knew I had to do something to change, to be free of my addiction and the life I was living.
