You can partner with us in ways that might even surprise us. If you are part of an organization or group that has the means to benefit our programs and services to the needy in our community, please let us know. Your company might want to do a special barbeque in our back parking lot to provide lunch or dinner for our friends and neighbors. Perhaps you have a musical group or can provide other forms of entertainment or maybe you can help us get the word out about the Mission through media connections you might have.
We encourage you to use your imagination to consider how you can make a difference in the lives of our clients on Skid Row. The Mission depends on the goodwill of all persons in our community to provide assistance to those in need. Read what people are saying about their experience with our work.
“I’ve been to the Los Angeles Mission and have seen firsthand the great work they do for the homeless of our city. I encourage our community to support them.”
– Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa
“It makes my holiday even more special to be able to be alongside such generous people like those that give their time and effort to the Los Angeles Mission.”
– Melissa Joan Hart
“The Los Angeles Mission Thanksgiving meal is really fun and exciting, but it’s also moving. You get to see all of the love and enthusiasm people give, the compassion and joy to share during the holidays. The work that the Los Angeles Mission is doing to feed and clothe and help people 365 days a year is so amazing and inspiring. It just makes me happy to be able to be a part of it.”
– Daryl Hannah
“Every time I visit the Los Angeles Mission, I learn more about the resilience of the human spirit and our need to be connected to others. We all need to invest in our community. The Mission gives us a compassionate way to invest our time, our talents and our hearts.”
– Leeza Gibbons
“Over the years, my son Max and I have helped the staff of the Los Angeles Mission serve meals during the holidays. I can say firsthand that what they do is wonderful, and it’s an extraordinary gift because they provide comfort to the less fortunate.”
– Henry Winkler
“For a country like ours, it’s a shame that there are so many homeless people going hungry every day. Los Angeles Mission is doing something about it.”
– Kevin Nealon
“I have done this for the past few years. The Los Angeles Mission takes care of many people in the city, in particular, this downtown area. It’s a wonderful opportunity for us who are very blessed to come out and help those that aren’t as privileged as we are. It’s important for people to help financially as well as coming out here and volunteering. I’m pleased to be a part of this effort. The Mission can’t continue this effort unless they have the resources, personnel and money. So we encourage people of Los Angeles to be generous in their contributions by trying to help those less fortunate.”
– Councilman Dennis Zine
“I’m proud to be a part of the work of the Los Angeles Mission. Men and women who are hungry and homeless find food and shelter. But the Mission is much more than a place to eat and sleep! Their Urban Training Institute provides hope and a new beginning for men and women who most other organizations have given up on. Even those who thought they had no future are finding new life. I’m pleased to support an organization that is really making a difference.”
– Ken Howard
“I just think that today [Thanksgiving 2005] was so important because it made me realize how truly thankful I am for everything. I think the Los Angeles Mission is doing a wonderful job of showing people what we can do and how we can improve life. It inspired me to do more and come back here more and feed more people and make a difference in the world.”
