Frequently Asked Questions for Partnering Organizations
Q: How often do I need to apply?
A: Only one time. Once your initial application is approved, verification of your 501(c)(3) status will take place annually and you may be asked periodic follow-up questions to determine your needs for donation items. You may also be asked to have a representative from LAM come visit your outreach site.
Q: How do I receive overage donations from Los Angeles Mission?
A: First you must submit the Partner Outreach Agency application. Once you are an approved partner organization you will contact Jessica Mason (213)-629-1227 ext. 437 to discuss your organization’s needs and be given the monthly schedule for pick-ups at the warehouse location.
Occasionally Los Angeles Mission will invite all partnering outreaches to an open house of items when supplies are great enough. During these events, outreaches are welcome to come pick items that will assist in their organization operations.
Q: Can items be delivered or shipped?
A: No, all items received by partner organizations must be picked up from Los Angeles Mission warehouse.
Q: Can items be sold?
A: In accordance with Accord Network Standards, all GIK donations must be used in furtherance of the tax-exempt mission, purpose, and program objectives of the receiving non-profit organization. Receiving agencies agree not to sell, barter or trade any GIK donation given to the organization by the Los Angeles Mission unless a specific agreement is in writing.
